Dialogues of Herbert Joos.
Austrian trumpet player Herbert Joos is even in the jazz scene an outsider because of his passion for free improvisation. His project ‘Adagio 1+2’ from 2001 is a musical diptych with elements full of contrast. In ‘Adagio 1’ Joos goes into a dialogue with nature, with only a trompet, English horn and percussion. In ‘Adagio 2’, described by himself as ‘human dialogue’ , he plays together with some notable European jazz musicians, like tuba player Michael Godard, (bas)clarinet player Wolfgang Puschnig and bassist Achim Tang.
