Innovation that’s made a come-back.
The Jaipong that emerged in the late 70s as an answer instigated by the government to the pernicious influence of western pop music. This new ‘domestic’ Javan musical form fell into oblivion in the 90s but has returned in full, albeit in trendy mixed forms with for example latin and dance.
