Tribute to Ol’ Man River.
Singer, violinist and banjo player John Hartford (1937-2001) was fascinated by the role the ‘mighty Mississippi’ had played in North American history. In the nineteen seventies he recorded a few albums with this river as a guideline. In this episode, you hear tracks of the albums Headin’ Down to the Mystery Below (1978) and Slumberin’ on the Cumberland (1979).
