Canadian cross-border traffic between pop and jazz.
After Joni Mitchell had paved the way, fellow singer-songwriter Jane Siberry [see photo] also ventured into jazz territory, resulting in the beautiful album “Maria.” For The Philosopher Kings [photo below], a pop group from Toronto, jazz was already in their DNA from the very beginning.
