Lenny Pickett – from the US via Borneo to Finland.
Saxophonist and bandleader (Saturday Night Live Band and Tower of Power Horn Section) Lenny Pickett released an obscure album in 1987 featuring minimalist pieces for winds and percussion, titled Dance Music for Borneo Horns. Years later, the record turned out to have achieved cult status in Finland, and Pickett was invited by the UMO Jazz Orchestra to revisit the project with them, resulting in the album The Prescription from 2016.
