DJ Safri was in a very relaxed mood when he created this mix, a compilation of his favourite dub tracks. Dub originally comes from Jamaica. As of the early seventies, reggae artists would make instrumental versions of the songs to put on the b-side of their singles. Lazy songs with deep bass lines were rebuilt into hallucinating trips by several special studio effects like reverb, delay, flangers and feedback. Since then dub has become a widespread musical genre which goes way further than Jamaica. All over the world musicians en DJs use dub effects in their songs.
In this mix, besides an original Jamaican dub classic (The Congos), dub with influences from the Balkans, Klezmer, Ethiopia, Turkey, Pakistan and (yes!) the Netherlands!
