The ‘stubborn student’ is about the bumpy relationship between Beethoven and Haydn
In Part VII, we take a closer look at one of Beethoven’s benefactors and sponsors, Count Waldstein, who played a crucial role in Beethoven’s career. For it was through him that Beethoven was eventually able to study with Haydn in Vienna. But also in Bonn he did a lot for him and sometimes supported him financially. It is not surprising that Beethoven occasionally did something in return and dedicated compositions to him.
