Chubby Jackson Big Band. He made a name for himself and gained fame as bass player in Woody Herman’s first ‘Herd’ and as the host of a TV programme for kids. His own group, which focused on bebop, played in a sparkling and enthusiastic way. Thankfully, more and more of Jackson’s music is becoming available.
