1/ Love for Chet by Stéphane Belmondo.
Since the eighties the French trumpet player Stéphane Belmondo has been a well-known figure in the clubs from Paris to New York. He worked with jazz personalities like Dee Dee Bridgewater, Horace Silver and Lee Konitz. The American trumpet player and singer Chet Baker left his mark like no other on jazz history until he unfortunately died in Amsterdam in 1988. Belmondo’s fascination for Baker led to an inevitable tribute to Chet.

2/ William Onyeabor is a funk musician from Nigeria and born in 1945 or 1946. Onyeabor‘s songs are often rhythmic and synthesized with lyrics which execrate the war. In the past few years a number of his songs appeared on compilations. Most of the time his biggest hit Better Change Your Mind and even more Funky sounds from West Africa from the seventies. According to Onyeabor’s record label Luaka Bop Records he released his own eight albums between 1977 and 1985 and then became a born again Christian. He refused to speak about himself or his music ever again.
