The singing of mezzo-soprano Ilda Simonian is rooted in the age-old Armenian musical tradition which reached from mediaeval liturgical singing and the traditional folk music of East Anatolia and the Transcaucasia until the Armenian classical music by composers like Komitas, Melikian and Avedissan. Ilda Simonian has lived in Amsterdam since the nineties. CD: Armenian Songs by Ilda Simonian. Label: Kalan (2008, cofe: CD442. WebsiteVideo
2/ El Juntacadáveres. The vultures is the translation of the name of this Belgian Argentinian band. The sevens called themselves after a novel about a pimp who wants to set up the perfect brothel. What the men of El Juntacadáveres wanted to say is: our music is the music of the street. They play a mix of traditional tango orchestras and music of the contemporary music scene.
