The Early World

sat 26 dec 2015 05:00 hrs

With world music from Senegal, Lithuania, the Netherlands Antilles and Belgium.

Solo Cissokho & Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė.
Solo (from Senegal) plays the ‘kora’ and Indrė (from Lithuania) the ‘kankles’, two instruments with similar sounds, but from two different musical cultures. The Senegalese and Lithuanian folk melodies intertwine with spontaneous improvisations with a sunny, bright and gentle stream of acoustic music.

Guitar, mandocello, violin, viola d’amore and trumpet violin, those are the instruments on which Aurélie Dorzée & Tom Theuns perform their musical wonders. Together they create a unique form of folk, which is closely related to chamber music, while their jazzy style of playing and humorous keys give their music a completely unique color.
