Folk music by the Pontic Greeks.

Music by Greeks who lived in the Pontus area and emigrated to Greece after 1920. The Pontus is an area located at the southeastern banks of the Black Sea approximately 700 kilometres long, and an inland distance of 60 to 80 kilometres. The historic Greeks called it Pontos Axeinos, which means something along the lines of inhospitable sea.
