Turkey is a country with a very rich history, which had some highly developed forms of civilization since the early days. This includes also the music of the country, which was brought to large parts of Europe by the many conquests of the Turkish people during the fourteenth century.
The student dance society Turk Folklor Kurumu has set a goal to collect the dances of different areas of their country and to interpret that in a most authentic way. You will be hearing this on the LP Folk music from Turkey (1972), Negram ELS 945.
