International avant-garde
American tenor saxophonist David S. Ware (1949-2012) part 1. Somewhat in the wake of late John Coltrane, Archie Shepp and Albert Ayler, he, as a musician, set the tone in Avant Garde music. From 1989 he conducted his own quartet with pianist Matthew Shipp and bassist William Parker, and an alternate drummer. This quartet was to be active for 17 years in the US and in Europe, recordings date from 1995.
