Dan Terry (1924-2011) was a trumpet player and band leader. He was locally and temporarily successful, and his soloists and arrangers such as Marty Paich, Gene Roland and Ernie Wilkins were first-class. Still he tried his whole life in vain to enthuse America’s youth about his swing music.
