World music by Flavio Venturini (Brazil) and Combo Nations (Norway, Africa, India and Iran).

1-Flavio Venturini was born in 1949 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He discovered music when he was 3 years old. At the age of 15 his musical training started and his first instrument was the accordion. Shortly after that his father gave him a piano and he started studying musical perception and piano at the Foundation of Artistic Education in Belo Horizonte.

CD: Minas Gerais – Brasil / Flavio Venturini. Label: Trilhos Arte (2006), code: tro112. Video

2-Combo Nations.

The Norwegian super group Combo Nations was founded by its band leader Javid Afsari Rad. He gathered the best international musicians living in Oslo to join his septet, such as percussion player Diom de Kossa and kora player Solo Cissokho. In the past he played with celebrities such as Ali Farka Toure and Youssou N’dour. The other septet members are very convincing in their virtuose playing. These musicians, with their Indian, African and Iranian roots, take a new road in their musical trip which has already last 17 years, and that’s what makes Dunya so fascinating. Combo Nations turns African, Arabic and Indian influences into their own, unique sound.
