The Night: World Music. ‘Fete de la Musique’  special. With a nod to the French ‘Fête de la Musique’, an annual festival on 21 June which is an opportunity for especially (amateur) musicians to perform in a street party like atmosphere.

1-Latin Street Party.

2-Brazilian Street Party.
The Brazilian street party has no limits. From the Capoeira, the Brazilian funk, the Carnival music of Recife, the DJs in Rio de Janeiro to the Afro-Reggae, the masters of the festival spirit bring us diversity, good vibes and happines. 3-African Street Party.

4-Babylon Circus.
The nine-headed French band Babylon Circus (from Lyon) continues the tradition that was started by the bands Mano Negra and Manu Chao with a mix of reggae, ska, sometimes rock and blazing lyrics. 5-Touré Kunda.
A retrospective of Touré Kunda between 1983 and 1987 is material from the early works. Touré Kunda is known for their easy accessible music which mixes Senegalese tradition with elements of fusion in a kind of Senegalese middle course. Amadou Touré, who joined in 1979 after the founding of the group, has contributed a lot to the artistic image of Touré Kunda. Tragically, he died during a concert in January 1983, due to a heart attack. The next album, Amadou Tilo, was dedicated to him. CD: Dance of the Leaves – Touré Kunda. 6-Rafael & Energia Dominicana.
The Québecois-Dominican Rafael and his electrifying Montreal orchestra Rafael & Energia Dominicana present their debut album Enamorarse en la Playa, with their own compositions in different music styles, such as Salsa. But Rafael is mostly famous for his Merengue and Bachata styles from his native country: the Dominican Republic. Brace yourself for a tropical journey in a passionate Carribean, sensual rhythm. 7-Ensemble Hüseyin Türkmenler.
The classical dance music of the Arabic world, often denoted as belly dance music. In Egypt, the model country of this music, the term ‘oriental dance’ is used. The origin of this genre remains unclear. In the 19th century, western visitors of Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey already mentioned the dance. The patterns of oriental dance music are inspired by gypsy music rhythms. Another typical feature, especially in the Turkish version, is the use of finger cymbals.
