Živeli Orkestar – Yashaaa…!!! (2015)

This night  starts with the album  Yashaaa…!!! by the Živeli Orkestar. This French balkan group and her enchanting singer Suzana Djordjevic have immersed themselves in the heart of the Balkan festivals through their third album: “Yashaaa … !!!”.

Slavic music with influences from gypsy and eastern music, from the Aegean Sea to the borders of India.

The aim of the production is to introduce musical cultures and styles to the Hungarians, along with the Western audience, so their songs are sung in several languages. Hip-hop-electronica-worldmusic duo (Yorgos and Lepe) add a large crowd of performers on their albums and in their concerts.

Strange Circles, by Bokanté. (2017)

 The word means ‘exchange’ in Creole, the language of the band’s vocalist Malika Tirolien. The music represents the idea of a cultural exchange between the melting pot of musicians involved. This vibrant album clearly shows the individual influences from each band member.

Addis 1988 is the document of a moment in time when Mulatu Astatke was not yet the global Ethiojazz superstar he is today, but change was gonna come for him, and for the whole world.
First released in 1992, available for CD only and out of print for many years, Addis 1988 is now remastered.

Goran Bregovic – Three Letters from Sarajevo, Opus 1  (2017)

 

On the album Three Letters from Sarajevo he celebrates the history of his birthplace Sarajevo, a meeting place for Christians, Muslims and Jews before the Balkan war, with a wildly varied set. There are instrumental pieces honoring the three religions, each dominated by a different violinist, and including powerful atmos-pheric work from Tunisia’s Zied Zouari.
