1- Djunta Kudjer – Elida Almeida.

The 24-year-old Cape Verde singer-songwriter Elida Almeida is an exciting dynamic singer who banned by the Portuguese with her album Djunta Kudjer, based on the lesser-known traditional ‘tabanka rhythm’ – a prominent symbol of the struggle for national independence in 1896 as a result of the insurgency against colonial rule and the Catholic church).

2- Fifavela of the Orchestra International du Vetex.

Orchestra International du Vetex is a party fan from the Belgian Kortrijk. Flemish, Walloon and Northern French musicians of various social backgrounds mix gypsy music, balkan beats, ska, latin and klezmer to dance for example polka or tarantella. The group consists of blazers (flute, trombone, saxophone, trumpet, bugel, clarinet, sousaphone) that are supported by drums, percussion and accordion.

3- Thalassa – Strings and Winds by Oluf Dimitri Roe and Family.

The sea and the wind also connect people and cultures. For example, the music of this album Thalassa-what ‘sea’ means in Greek. Several family members, such as his daughter Marianna, his son Bjørn and his niece Anna are part of the “Family” of the Greek-Norwegian Oluf Dimitri Roe. At Thalassa, cultures and styles, strings and wind instruments are connected, inspired by folk music around the Aegean Sea, with many improvisation and elements of jazz.

4- Flali in Chicago of Zanzibar.

Flali is a mask and a rhythm that links to a traditional dance of the Cote d’Ivoire, and Chicago is one of the most important cities in history when it’s about blues, and certainly ‘Boogie Woogie’! This album is about the Afro Boogie, a festive and excited music genre that Zanzibar probably plays as the only group, a cross-pollination between archery and African music. Zanzibar explores the various musical mixes that first appeared in the jazz, blues, ragtime & arc woogie. The lyrics are in English, French, Kirundi (Burundi language), and in Haitian Creole.

5- Zafon of KV Express.

KV Express is the project of accordionist Sophie Cavez. For this album Zafòn composed and arranged a repertoire that draws you through a sensitive, powerful and festive world. On the one hand, Sophie was inspired by traditional music from Flanders and far beyond, and on the other hand by poetry and books by author Carlos Ruiz Zafòn. The game of the Diatonic Accordion and Sophie’s compositions are innovative for the folk world, giving a modern sound and a new color to traditional folk music.

6- Polyphonies de Géorgie of the Ensemble Marani.

The ensemble Marani, founded in 1993, is a men’s choir dedicated to the Georgian repertoire. Georgian polyphony has an absolutely unique atmosphere. It’s an intriguing music that touches the listener. The repertoire on this album consists mainly of three voices. The medium and high voices are always soloists. The low voice is sung on a desk. The togetherness and singing of these polyphonies, either sacred or secular, is to advance in the present of an ancestral culture.

8- Azerbaijan Love Songs.

Of many Azerbaijan songs, the lyrics are very numerous and diverse in themes. Universal human feelings like passion, affection, pain of loss or separation, desire for love, loneliness, joy of mutual love are reflected in Azerbaijan love songs in an infinite number of emotional nuances. Old folk songs based on the poetic forms of popular quatraines form an important part of the national love song repertoire. Most of these songs were very popular in the Caucasus; they were sung everywhere, mainly in the Azerbaijani language, and gradually became part of the cultural heritage of the Caucasian peoples.
