Blok 1

Pressburger Klezmer band – Baladen (2018).

Preßburger Klezmer Band is the leading representative of ethno / world music genre and at the same time the first Klezmer band in Slovakia. The  Band was created in 1995, since then they have regularly performed live in Europe and Slovakia.

 

Blok 2 

Manhã Florida by Nancy Vieira (2018)

Label: Lusafrica

Fans of Cesaria Evora will rediscover all the charms of the archipelago’s melodies brimming with melancholy, nostalgia and joie de vivre.

 

Blok 3

Aram Bajakian & Julia Ulehla – Dalava (2014)

Bajakian’s collaboration with his wife, vocalist, actress and ethnomusicologist, Julia Ulehla, entitled Dálava.

 

Blok 4

Maya Youssef – Syrian Dreams (2017)

Label: Harmonia Mundi ‎– HMM 90234

Her music may be based on the scales and modes of the traditional Arabic maqam, but there are echoes of everything from jazz to flamenco here, and the backing is equally inventive, with thoughtful cello work from Barney Morse-Brown matched against incisive oud and hand percussion.

Sara Tavares called Fitxadu (2017)

Second-generation Portuguese of Cape Verdean descent, she composes African, Portuguese and North American influenced world music. She composes in Portuguese and Portuguese-based creole languages.

Rim Banna -Seasons Of Violet (2007)

Label: Strange Ways Records ‎– Way 266
Distributed by Xango Music

Rim Banna’s latest recording, subtitled “Lovesongs from Palestine,” is a throughly modern-sounding collection of songs, even when the texts explored are taken from Palestinian folk verse or incorporate a Hindu chant.

Caci Vorba Tajno Biav (Secret Marriage)   (2011)

TAJNO BIAV (“Secret Marriage”) is the name of the second release of the Polish-Ukrainian group Čači Vorba. And it does sound like a secret gypsy wedding – cheerful dance music, melancholic love songs and wistful a cappella ballads, arranged in a virtuoso manner and presented on the highest musical level.

Driss el Mlouna – Makan (2013)

Label:  Contre-Jour ‎– CJ029

Not merely an ace lutenist, Morrocan oud virtuoso Driss El Maloumi is an erudite, creative, highly flexible musician.
On Makan he presents his own compositions, played by an unusual trio.
His colleagues both play various hand drums.

 Various Artists – Capo Verde Terra D’Amore In Jazz (2014)

The most prominent Italian jazz magazine issued monthly for over 70 years, Musica Jazz, added to its May 2014 issue an album devoted to Cesaria Evora.
