1- Maluzerne.

2- Alan Stivell.
This collection of all early material serves as an excellent introduction to Alan Stivell’s music for the neophyte. While the tracks are varied – instrumental/vocal, rocking/reflective, acoustic/electrified, it’s all stamped with this troubadour’s mysterious scent. By his twenties he was already a fully formed performer, thanks to his early initiation into Breton music, the harp, their place in the Celtic world and even their role in civilization in general. Alan Stivell is certainly non-traditional, yet true to his tradition, recognizing that its survival depends on it. CD. Master serie – Alan Stivell. LABEL: Philips (1990), code: 8466482. VIDEO

3- I Muvrini.
A Corsican music group. In the early 1980s, the group was struggling. Some cities banned the concerts because they would disturb public order. However, I Muvrini continued to sing in the Corsican language. They created their own style by combining traditional music with their own compositions. The Corsican identity marked their own sound. CD. Au Zenith – Leurs 13 plus grandes chansons – I Muvrini. LABEL: Columbia Records (1994), code: 4769422. VIDEO

4- France : Ethnic-Folk-music.
This is an album released in Germany in the 1980s, part of about forty CDs and LPs from the Folklore Series of the label Sonia. Almost all countries in the world were represented in this series with a national edition. France is represented with songs from various regions, most of them with an instrumental version, in which the accordion plays a leading role. CD. France : Ethnic-Folk-music – National Character – Exotic. LABEL: Sonia (1989), code: CD 77085.

5- Beñat Achiary.
Singer-songwriter born in 1947 (in the Basque Country), is one of the most creative vocalists in France. He teaches traditional music at the Conservatoire National de Région in Bayonne. While he has recorded several solo albums, including Basque Music of Today, Beñat Achiary’s most impressive work has come from his improvised collaborations with soprano saxophonist Michael Doneda, whom he met in the late 1980s. In 2001 he released Voix Basques, a record that mixes his Basque roots with the culture defined by European improvisation and other traditions. CD. Arranoa – Beñat Achiary. Ocora (1988), code: C 559045. VIDEO
