Jazz, blues and nostalgia, by Sjaak Roodenburg.
A musical mixed bag in this Palace, with old music only. Including wondrous millionaire’s wife Mrs. Miller, would loved to sing – but really couldn’t – but was able to release many records thanks to her hubby’s dollars and even made it into the charts. Further, creamy British 30’s band Ambrose; the bronzed narrator of commercials and documentaires Ken Nordine, who flamed amazingly on a ‘cool jazz’ album. We also have ‘the Female Elvis Presley’ Jane Martin, jazz legend Jean Goldkette – winner of the legendary ‘battle of the bands’ -, the once promising young vocalist Sue Raney, humorous trumpet player Clyde McCoy, harmonies from the The Brothers Four, Hawaii icon King Benny Nawahi, Doris Day in a fun duet with Ray Noble, The Shadows and Nancy Wilson. In short, we are going back in time with a smile.
