To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the KLM on 7 October, this hour will be full of ‘flight’ music: The Young Sinatra’s (‘Come fly with me’), Bob Scholte sings about the Pelican (based on the historical Amsterdam-Batavia return flight to deliver the Christmas mail by a plane called the Pelican in December 1933).
Lous Davids sings about the even more famous Uiver, which won the London-Melbourne Rae, Max Tailleur (‘Ga met de KLM naar Holland’), Wim Sonneveld (‘Ja, we vliegen!’),
