15 years of record label Unseen Worlds.
With the revival of vinyl records and even CDs, there is also more room for adventurous record labels to explore. One of the most notable American record labels is Unseen Worlds. For the past fifteen years, the label has been a guide in the broad spectrum of lesser-known, contemporary, experimental music. Led by label boss Tommy McCutchon, Unseen Worlds releases music on that exists the edge of neoclassical, minimal music, electronica, folk and pop music. In line with the motto ‘experimental but accessible’, the label uncompromisingly opts for contemporary music that touches both the head and the heart. Often forgotten or neglected composers are placed in the spotlight by Unseen Worlds. Over the past six months, Unseen Worlds has released several remarkable albums at a rapid pace.
On today’s episode of Theme, we focus on this brand new series of Unseen Worlds releases. From the pure experimental avant-garde of octogenarians Petr Kotik and John McGuire to more accessible works by Carl Stone, Robert Haigh and the duo Silvia Tarozzi and Deborah Walker.
