The Venice of Richard Rijnvos.
Richard Rijnvos has, since 1993, written only in cycles in which several compositions are grouped under an overarching subject that fascinates him. Examples include Block Beuys, dedicated to the German artist Joseph Beuys, Grand Atlas, devoted to the world’s seven continents, and la Serenissima, devoted on the city of Venice.
In this edition of Theme we hear the two most recent parts of la Serenissima: Quattro quadri (four paintings) for organ and Lettura del labirinto (reading the labyrinth) for harpsichord.
