Schubert and Greek Mythology

Franz Peter Schubert (1797-1828) used texts by about 115 poets in the 700 songs he wrote. We have a selection of them in this programme today, with Greek Mythology as a theme. Poems by Schiller, Goethe and in particular Johann Baptist Mayrhofer (1787-1836).
