Thou singest ye carol

Rudolf Jansen ‘Duo pianist’

In february of this year, pianist Rudolf Jansen passed away at 84 years old. He is seen as one of the greatest accompanists in the world. He accompanied singers such as Robert Holl, Dietrich Fischer-Diskau, Christa Pfeiler, Maarten Koningsberger and, of course, Elly Ameling.

This hour you’ll hear Rudolf Jansen perform as a duo pianist with several singers. And although the singers perform beautifully, this ‘in memoriam’ primarily honours Rudolf Jansen.
