Canadian vocalist and pianist Diana Krall (1964)
When she was four years old, Canadian vocalist and pianist Diana Krall started to play the piano and, from an early age, performed in local restaurants. She studied piano and was mentored by pianists like Jimmy Rowles. Back in Canada, she dedicated herself to singing and her name became more and more well-known. She formed her own trio and was very successful in her repertoire of songs of the Great American Songbook. She was even awarded a number of Grammy’s because of some very well promoted albums. In today’s programme, we will focus on tracks of the album ‘From This Moment On’ produced in 2006 and you will hear her perform both with a quartet and with the Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.
