For nearly three decades, the Amsterdam Klezmer Band has been renewing Klezmer music from its core, blending tradition with fresh, playful energy. With their latest album, *Diaspora*, the band returns to their acoustic roots while simultaneously giving it a subtle twist. The album, recorded almost entirely in a single take at the Singelkerk in Amsterdam on November 26, 2025, radiates the raw energy of an authentic live performance. The result is warm, lively, and full of life—a sound that reconnects the Amsterdam Klezmer Band with the foundations of Klezmer music, while simultaneously leaving ample room for improvisation and discovery. *Diaspora* also marks a moving moment in the band’s history. It is the final recording featuring trumpeter and co-founder Gijs Levelt, whose sound and musical vision have shaped the Amsterdam Klezmer Band for nearly 28 years.
