Lo’Jo Rhyma Kcheich
In this World Minerals, many musical meetings: on the cd ‘Le rythme de la parole’ a special collaboration between musicians from India, Iran and Mali. Furthermore, music by Lebanese singer Rhyma Kcheich together with Dutch jazz musicians, and finally, French mestizo group Lo ‘Jo.
‘Le rhytme de la parole’ volume 2 from 2006 is a sequel to an earlier CD of the same name. In this project, Iranian percussionist Keyvan Chemirani brings together vocalists from different countries, in this case from India, Mali and Iran.
On the CD ‘Falak’, young Lebanese singer Rhyma Kcheich plays together with a number of known Dutch jazz musicians, such as contrabass player Tony Overwater and saxophone player Yuri Honing.
Finally, French group Lo’jo. This French mestizo band is not very well known in the Netherlands, surprisingly, but in France they have built up quite a reputation with their 9 CDs. The music is kind of like French folk music mixed with North African influences.
