Salih Nour                              Tarhana
Sudanese singer Salih Nour lives in the Netherlands, where he won the Netherlands Grand Prize in the singer-songwriter category in 2000. At that time he performed together with someone who has become well-known since then: Ethiopian singer Minyeshu in the Africa Unite group.
From Bulgaria, the women of Le mystère des voix Bulgares. This a capella choir has been around since 1952 and produces a beautiful harmonized sound.
In 2007, Concha Buika surprised the world of flamenco with a curious flamenco CD. On the CD El ultimo tragio, she makes an excursion to Latin jazz, accompanied by Chucho Valdés on piano.
Radio Tarifa plays Spanish music with elements from the various cultures that have influenced Spain over the past centuries, from medieval and Arabic music to flamenco, rock and jazz. You can listen to three songs from the CD Cruzando el rio.
Finally, we come to the exciting music by Tarhana, the group featuring Dutch-Turkish percussionist Sjahin During. Tarhana plays a crossover between Balkan, gipsy and afro, Turkish trance and Indian funk. In 2008, their first CD Mundus was released.
