Chinese, Europeans and Sudanese have united!
In this hour we will feature four music styles that are typical for Jabotek (Jakarta). 1. Tanjidor, a western brass band that stems from the colonial days and where different Indonesian instruments have been added to. 2 Gambang kromong, an ensemble that consists of Chinese, Sudanese and western instruments. 3.Topeng Betawi, a form of theatre with an ensemble that consists of a rebab, drums and gongs.4. Ajeng, a gamelan orchestra with a tarompet (a double reed instrument).
