New CDs of Gaye Su Akyol, Kel Assouf, Lusafrica 30th Aniversary Album and The Sound of Moroccan Festivals.

Singer Songwriter Gaye Su Akyol – originally an anthropologist – comes from the Anatolian plateau, but grew up in Istanbul where influences from all over the world come together. This combination of rich traditions forms the basis of her music.

Kel Assouf stands with one leg in the Sahara and with the other in the urban jungle, so writes Anana Harouna. Anana Harouna founded the band in 2006 in Brussels after he was banished from Niger. Since then, Anana brought diverse musicians from both Africa and Europe together and released two albums with totally different stories, from tradition to  rock. The third album ‘Black Tenere’ has just been released. Its melodies are inspired on Berber music, heavy rock, trance rythms and traditional Touareg music.

The Lusafrica label exists 30 years and has released for this occasion the 30th Anniversary Album. The label was founded by José da Silva to release CDs of Cesaria Evora, but has grown into a very succesful label which releases Lusafone music.
