The Australian future soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote is considered one of the innovators of today’s jazz funk scene. Even though the music is full of complex time signatures and complicated production tricks the songs are proper pieces, solid as a rock. On 23 August 2017 a variety of young jazz and pop musicians, often connected to the Rotterdam Conservatory, paid a tribute to this eclectic and renewing collective. Live at BIRD, Rotterdam.
