The Podcast: Jacqueline Oskamp on Louis Andriessen
In this episode, we speak at length with Jacqueline Oskamp, biographer of Louis Andriessen. Her book, Groots is de liefde: Biografie van Louis Andriessen (1939–2021), was published a year ago and received an excellent reception.
The conversation was prompted by a recent new production of De Materie in Antwerp, widely regarded as Louis Andriessen’s magnum opus. Further performances of his music are also planned, including Hoketus later in 2026. These are signs that Andriessen’s music continues to attract considerable interest, both in the Netherlands and internationally, even five years after his death. Dates can be found on the Louis Andriessen Foundation website.
Jacqueline Oskamp will also be interviewed about her biography in front of a live audience on 5 November at De Mess in Naarden and on 11 November at Dat Bolwerck in Zutphen.
You can listen here to an earlier conversation between Aad van Nieuwkerk and Jacqueline Oskamp about her biography of Andriessen.
