The Palace of Nostalgia

The Palace on Tour. On the road with the encouragement of Frank Sinatra (‘Let’s get away from it all’) and the Beau Hunks Saxophone Soctette (‘Anchors away’), but also rustic enjoyment with Hoagy Carmichael (‘Memphis in June’), the Metropole Orchestra (‘Egyptian Summer’) and the cousin of Woody Guthrie, Jack Guthrie (‘Oklahoma Hills’).
Quite curious, Wendy Mae Chambers on her Car Horn Organ with ’New York, New York’. Just like that, The Rolling Stones in the Palace for once with ‘Route 66’ and in contrast: Nelson Riddle with ’Theme from Route 66’ and schlager singer Rudi Schuricke about an island that is built from dreams.
Lonely on the road, with Billie Holiday and in her wake Etta Jones.
Further: Chet Baker, Die Drei Traveller (‘Ich hab’ noch einen Koffer in Berlin’), from the primeval times of jazz Ben Selvin (‘Manhattan’). And also: Rosemary Clooney, Bette Midler, Margaret Whiting, Johnny Cash (‘Tennessee flat-top box’).
In short: a journey around the globe and through musical history.
