Mexico (4) – Mi alma mexicana. In our series on Mexican composers, today we focus on Manuel Ponce (1882–1948). He proved to be a child prodigy and studied in Mexico, Italy, Germany and France. Mexican (and partly Cuban) folk music plays an important role in his work. Today we feature no songs or solo works for piano or guitar, but a number of his works for orchestra.
