This episode is dedicated to the musical legacy of recently deceased saxophonist David Sanborn.
Sanborn was well-versed in gospel music and rhythm & blues, and as a session musician, he played a key role in hundreds of defining recordings and concerts of the 70s and 80s. Unwittingly, he also became a pioneer; he shaped the expression of the saxophone in modern music.
