The American alto saxophone player Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley (1928-1975) part 1. In the fifties and sixties he was one of the most prominent hard bop musicians. His energetic and ‘bluesy’ phrasing are still legendary. Early recordings with quintets from 1957 and 1958.
