Egypt: Female voices from a Golden age  Part V

A fifth episode dedicated to the great singers from the Golden Age of Egyptian music, radio and film industry, the 1930s to the 1970s.Listen to earlier episodes of this series: part 1 here , part 2 here, part 3 here, and part 4 here

The centre of this flourishing period was the Egyptian capital Cairo, Some of these singers were a bit forgotten and especially compared to the big star of the east Oum Kolthoum. They did however provide great classics composed by the big names like (Riad El-Sunbaty, M. Abdel-Wahab, M. El-Mougy ..etc).

In this episode you can listen to some female voices from Egypt between the 1950s and 60s such as Horeya Hassan, Huda Sultan, Fayda Kamel, Nagat El-Sagheera ..etc and  -in short- the great Lebanese Najah Salam
