On 10 December (20:00 – 21:00), our series with music that was produced during the period of the collapse (‘destroyka’) and restructuring ('perestrojka') of communism in Eastern Europe again concerns Russia.
In this broadcast, the Elegy for piano and strings by Alla Pavlova, the Monologue for viola and orchestra by Alfred Schnittke and the Concerto for viola and orchestra by Sofja Goebajdoelina, a composition that she dedicated to the soloist Yuri Bashmet (photo Oleg Natsjinkin).
