The third edition of Pocket Concerts once again boasts a fantastic lineup: vocalist and singer-songwriter Koosje and guitarist João Erbetta!
Dutch singer-songwriter Koosje (Koosje Sekreve) effortlessly weaves neo-soul, folk, jazz, and R&B with her warm, expressive voice. Raised in a musical and theatrical family, she sang opera as a child and studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, graduating summa cum laude in 2016. Her debut album, “It’s Time” (February 2023), attracted the attention of artists such as Gregory Porter, David Crosby, and Lalah Hathaway.
Brazilian guitarist, composer, and producer João Erbetta met Koosje in 2020. He is known for his work on the soundtracks of Netflix series such as Coisa Mais Linda and Girls From Ipanema. In Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, Koosje and João recorded the EP Gaia, an atmospheric blend of bossa nova, neo-soul, and folk with songs in both Portuguese and English. Their collaboration culminated in the album One More (May 2025), in which João makes a prominent contribution as a guitarist in addition to his role as producer.
The chemistry between Koosje and João is both musical and personal: their dialogues between vocals and guitar parts give their collaborative work an intimate, colourful depth. The result is a unique soundscape in which jazzy grooves and folk influences intertwine harmoniously.
