We have already broadcast quite a few wonderful programmes as part of our celebrations of the anniversary year ‘100 Years of Miles Davis and John Coltrane,’
ProgJazz has produced a three-part series on John Coltrane. The first episode is full of tributes to this iconic saxophonist. Episode two traces his development towards spiritual jazz. The final episode can be heard on Monday, June 22 at 20:00 CET and features Coltrane’s interpretations of works by other composers.
In House of Hard Bop, the focus is on the years 1957 and 1958, with recordings of Miles Davis together with John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb.
The first programme in Dwarsliggers en Buitenbeentjes is also ready and features music by John Coltrane, performed by Pharoah Sanders.
