On Sunday 1 September at 12:00 CET you can listen to a new programme in our series An Ox on the Roof: part 6: Schönberg’s students.
In this programme we look at four students of Arnold Schönberg, but for a change these do not include Alban Berg and Anton Webern with whom he formed the Second Viennese School. Vilma von Webenau [see foto] is less well-known. She was born in Vienna and at the end of the 19th century was his first private student and even followed him when he later moved to Berlin. The other students featured in the programme are Hanns Eisler, Ernst Krenek and John Cage.
