Guitarist, composer and Boy Edgar award winner Anton Goudsmit has been a creative force in the Dutch jazz scene and far beyond for about 30 years. He takes you into a world of passion and dedication with his energetic playing. You may know him from bands like New Cool Collective, the Ploctones and Ton Petit.
Jasper Somsen is perhaps the most recorded bassist in Europe during the last decade. He uses his expressive style not only in jazz, but also in crossovers with classical, global, pop and film music.
The collaboration between these two Dutch jazz heavyweights dates back to 1994 when they played together in the band of trumpeter Eric Vloeimans. As a duo, their collaboration began in 2014. A collaboration that resulted in the recording of the CD ‘Jasper Somsen invites Anton Goudsmit Live!’ in 2025.
