Arthur Olof, who has been with the Concertzender since the early days, died on 29 June. Hij was a board member and made programmes about 20th century Russian music.
Arthur had been a member of the board of the Concertzender since 1986, and was also the director for some time. He played a major role during the restart in 2009 and his knowledge and experience was an important contributor to the subsequent recovery of the Concertzender.
Arthur was also an inspired programme maker. His knowledge and enthousiasm for Russian music could be heard in his programmes “Perestrojka” and “Earwitness, everything in memory of you…”. Arthur continued to produce the Earwitness programmes during the final period of his life and there are now enough episodes available for us to continue broadcasts for another year. We are grateful for this opportunity to be able keep his memory alive.
