In Concertzender live! on Tuesday 29 April at 19.00 you can listen to the concert 'The Art of Listening' by the pianist Geoffrey Douglas Madge and the violinist Rosanne Phippens. The Concertzender recorded this concert on Sunday 30 March in the Korzo Theater, Den Haag.
In the music literature for violin and piano the Frühlingssonate by Beethoven and the Violin Sonata No. 1 by Brahms each have their own special and important place.
On 30 March these masterpieces were performed by Rosanne Philippens and Geoffrey Douglas Madge, together with Ravel's Tzigane. Unlike any other duo, Philippens en Madge are able to make these works excite the imagination, and make them sound as if they were composed only yesterday. They make new musical dimensions audible.
'The Art of Listening' is all about hearing, seeing and feeling. Each programme consists of a workshop in which the audience is actively involved, followed by a concert. In the workshop Madge leads the audience in his unique way through a series of listening experiences in which personal perception is the main objective.
