Contemporary Music on Sunday 3 July 17:00-18:00 CET features the Dutch composer Wilbert Bulsink.
Contemporary Music is a series of programmes about the current generation of Dutch composers. What is their motivation? Which music inspires them? How do they influence each other?
Each month features a different composer. We broadcast recent work by that composer but also include a work by another composer that has played an important role in their musical development. Finally, we ask them to also include a favourite piece by the composer that will be featured in the next programme. In this way we are building up a canon of Dutch contemporary music.
This month’s programme features Wilbert Bulsink (1983). His work is notable for the unusual titles such as “The wandering thoughts of bankers during a performance of Mahler’s Fifth Symphony in the Concertgebouw, networking”.
The programme includes a performance of this piece by the Rosa Ensemble.
