composer lived between 1812 to 1893. Rufinatscha grew up in the village Mals in South-Tirol. He studied at the conservatorium in Innsbruck and settled in 1835 as composer, piano and music theory teacher in Vienna. He became famous and his works were played. He wrote symphonies and large chamber works. His music was reasonably often mentioned, but not much is known about his life. When Brahms in 1862 comes to Vienna Rufinatscha is absorbed into his musical entourage .
