Earwitness #69: Nagasaki

On Monday 31 March (20:00-22:00), ‘Everything in memory of you…’, our series about 20th century Russian music, considers the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the US on 6 and 9 Augustus 1945, the end of WW II in Asia.

With works by Iosif Andriasov, the oratorio 'Nagasaki', Alfred Schnittke's graduation composition, the Requiem by Mieczyslaw Weinberg and, to mark this exceptional event, the Fifth Symphony 'Hiroshima' by the Japanse composer Masao Okhi.
